HBW Lifting & Tipping Metal Chip Baling Solution

Combine chip-cart lifting and tipping, a receiving hopper, hydraulic baling and discharge handling in one coordinated metal-scrap preparation arrangement.

Chip collection → cart lifting and tipping → hopper feeding → hydraulic baling → bale collection

System overview & equipment views

This HBW lifting and tipping baling arrangement brings together a cart lift, receiving hopper, hydraulic baler and bale discharge table. It provides a route from collected metal chips or shavings to compact bales for subsequent handling.

The HBW metal baler forms compact bales. This baling route produces a different package form from die-formed metal chip briquettes.

The first image is the main equipment view. The four supplied renders show the hopper, lift enclosure, baler and discharge area from different sides. They are configuration illustrations rather than evidence of a specific customer installation.

Material assessment & project requirements

Material suitability needs to be reviewed before selecting the baler. Send representative photos and describe the metal grade, chip length, loose bulk density, residual fluid and contamination. Assess long or tangled shavings separately from short, free-flowing chips; do not assume both feed in the same way.

For project planning, record average and peak material arrival, cart dimensions and loaded weight, available headroom, collection arrangements and the required bale form. A sample assessment helps determine whether preparation is needed before loading. Keep different metal grades separated when required by the receiving recycler.

Agree on the accepted feedstock specification. Hazardous containers, batteries and other unapproved items must be excluded. Dust, residual fluids and combustible-metal risks require a site-specific assessment and the equipment supplier’s operating instructions.

Baling workflow

  1. Collect: bring the intended metal-chip stream to the designated cart-loading location.
  2. Lift and tip: position a compatible cart in the lifting unit and transfer its contents into the hopper using the approved sequence.
  3. Feed and bale: coordinate hopper delivery with the hydraulic baler’s operating cycle.
  4. Discharge: move the formed bale onto the discharge table for collection.

During project review, establish which device controls each stage and what happens when the receiving machine is unavailable. Check how operators request a cycle, identify a fault and restart after an authorised stop. The illustrations alone do not establish the control-system specification.

2D layout & installation planning

The supplied drawing shows two projected views and an isometric arrangement of the lift, hopper, baler and discharge table. Use it to discuss the equipment orientation and material-handling route.

The visible dimension labels are 4620, 5340 and 2925. Their unit and drawing revision are not stated in this image. Confirm these with the approved project drawing before installation; they are not universal dimensions for the HBW range.

Check the cart approach, lifting and tipping envelope, hopper access, bale collection space, electrical cabinet access and maintenance routes. Confirm floor loading, anchoring, services and safe working clearances against the selected equipment documentation. Do not estimate installation dimensions by scaling the rendering.

Configuration & acceptance checks

Select the baler and upstream handling equipment as a coordinated arrangement. Machine ratings from a general reference page should not be treated as the specification for this illustrated system.

Before an acceptance trial, agree on the feedstock batch, run duration, output measurement and permitted interruptions. Record feeding behaviour, bale handling and any downtime. Verify guards, interlocks, emergency stops and safe isolation procedures against the final documentation with qualified personnel.

Frequently asked questions & next steps

What does the lifting and tipping unit do?

It transfers material from a compatible cart into the receiving hopper. Cart size, loaded weight and the transfer sequence must match the specified lifting unit.

Can short chips and long shavings use the same configuration?

Not automatically. Their handling behaviour can differ. Review representative material and any preparation requirements before agreeing on the feeding and baling arrangement.

Are output, power and bale size fixed?

No. Confirm them for the selected model, material and required bale form. The illustrations do not establish a performance rating.

Plan your lifting and tipping baling line

Send material photos, metal grade, chip form, daily volume, cart measurements and the available layout. Include the required bale size and collection method so the proposed arrangement can be checked against your workflow.
